One thing you'll find out is that most handles come with 1" screws for 3/4" thick door fronts, whereas drawers have an extra layer of material (3/4" drawer face and 5/8" drawer front) which are screwed together. Bought the best vertical grain fir 2x material from Carls ($300 for door and jamb material) and brought them out to Mr. Bill's Mill and Carpentry Shop. Still cutting and laying tile in the shower, but I've got the hard parts done with the drilling of holes for the shower valves.  Porcelain tile is hard and brittle, so you have to be pretty careful.I made a cardboard template for the valve placements, traced them on a tile and went at it. This goes on much smoother than the loma (sand) plaster and looks good when it dries. However, in order for the plaster to be hard and not chalk off, you need to compress it, which means wetting it up and troweling it back and forth with mild pressure.The porcelina went on fine. Doesn't seem that long, but then again there were some cold rainy days last winter that I'd prefer to forget.This week I need to finish laying the shingles on the back of the house, but the hard part is finished now.
